One year of Lancia Classiche Services

Valuing the past

27 November 2017

One year has passed since the launch of the Classic Car Services dedicated to owners of historic Lancias: Certificate of Origin, Certification of Authenticity, and Restoration and Repair.

In that time, almost a hundred classic Lancia owners have taken advantage of the new services by entrusting their cars to the hands of our expert mechanics.

The icing on the cake for the Heritage team was the Certification of Authenticity requested and obtained by Miki Biasion, world rally champion with Lancia in 1988 and 1989. The car in question was a rare and perfectly preserved Fulvia Coupé Safari, a limited-edition model built in 1976.

As Miki Biasion himself suggested, if you own a classic Lancia, the Certification of Authenticity "is not simply a document, but a recognition of value that goes beyond the materiality of the car itself".

Other important services have been provided, including the restoration and fine-tuning of a number of splendid models from the FCA Heritage collection, prior to their participation in major international events dedicated to historic cars throughout Europe.

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Aprilia, a major milestone in Lancia's history, the team completely restored a first series model that later took part in the 2017 edition of the Mille Miglia.

Spectators at the Goodwood Festival of Speed were treated to the roar of the extraordinary Ferrari-built engine that powers the 1983 LC2, the extremely rare Lancia Group C Endurance that rivalled Porsche on the world's leading circuits during the 1980s.

The car, with completely reconditioned mechanics, thrilled the thousands of enthusiasts who saw it running up the famous Goodwood hill.

At the Gran Premio Nuvolari, FCA Heritage fielded the glorious Aurelia B20, the archetypal 1950s grand tourer. The car was driven by Roberto Giolito, head of the Heritage department, and Daniele Audetto, formerly Lancia's team manager in the Seventies and co-driver of great rally champions such as Sandro Munari and Amilcare Ballestrieri.

With the Lancia Classiche programme, FCA Heritage makes a daily commitment to showcasing the cars that have shaped the history of the Lancia brand.

It has been an intense and immensely satisfying year.

Our Officine Classiche workshops are ready for further exciting challenges, to keep adding value to your timeless, classic Lancias.

Keep up to date with all the news, events and insights from the Heritage universe.
