On 9 September, the inaugural Grande Raduno Alfa Romeo meetup and the 1st Alfa Formula Trophy will open at the Vallelunga Circuit on the outskirts of Rome, preceded by an opening night event for drivers on the evening of Friday 8 September.

The first edition of the Trophy Formula Alfa is taking place at the Vallelunga Circuit and will run simultaneously with the Grande Raduno Alfa Romeo meetup. The event is only open to single-seaters with Alfa Romeo engines, specifically Alfa Boxer, Formula 3 pre-1984 and Formula 3 1985-1994 cars. It promises to be an extraordinary show for all historic car enthusiasts.

A packed weekend of events is lined up. Besides skill tests and track parades for participating drivers and their cars, the Peroni Race Group will be organising trials and races including the "300 km"/Alfa Classic Trophy endurance race for historic touring and grand touring cars. The meetup and parade will feature a trio of historic Alfa Romeo cars, namely the 8C Competizione, 4C and Giulia Quadrifoglio.

The Trophy format involves three 25-minute sessions. Behind the wheel of the F1 Alfa Romeo T182 owned by Scuderia del Portello will be the team’s president Marco Cajani together with three-time Italian Formula 3 champion Sergio Campana

The racing ace from Modena will also be coaching Alfa Romeo drivers entering the Formula Alfa Trophy and the 300 km/Alfa Classic Trophy by giving a training session assisted by a car camera to share tips and suggestions for driving on the Vallelunga circuit near Rome, especially for drivers of the single-seater cars.

Also participating will be former Autodelta team driver Gian Luigi Picchi and Alessandro Nannini who, alongside Davide Cironi with the Portello team’s 8C Competizione, will be the pace car driver for the Grande Raduno Alfa Romeo event on board a Giulia Quadrifoglio supplied by Alfa Romeo.

Both days will begin with a welcome event scheduled for 9:00am and will end with an award ceremony at around 6:30pm. Three trophies will be awarded by the Scuderia del Portello team and the FCA Heritage department for the most historic and original car, the top-ranked car in the skill tests and the club with the most participating cars

A regular shuttle bus service running from the Congress Centre to the paddock will be provided. The entry fee for event participants is 60 euros per day including meal voucher, pass, merchandise, skill tests and 25-minute track parade. Admission to watch the races is free of charge.

You can register for the meetup via Facebook or on the website.
