A rally race isn't over until it's over, and as everyone knows, the Safari Rally was full of surprises right until the last day, a race for hard-core adrenaline junkies. Among the thousand adventures of the famous 1988 Safari Rally, which saw the Lancia crew of Miki Biasion and Tiziano Siviero record a thrilling victory, was a close call between their Lancia Delta Integrale and a zebra, which despite producing a dent on the bodywork, thankfully left both parties none the worse for wear. Car No. 6 still bears the historic marks of this "close encounter" on the left front fender. It was a rally rich in suspense and dramatic twists, but the dogged determination of Biasion and Siviero gave them the support they needed to overcome the fatigue and stress, gaining ground over their rivals in the final section and achieving victory.
