Created by the skilful hand of Piero Castagnero in 1965, after various evolutions of the winning racing versions with the HF denomination, the Lancia Fulvia reached its peak of popularity in January 1972, thanks to its victory at the Monte Carlo Rally. Most memorable and impressive of all was its winning result in the legendary special stage of the Col del Tourini, which was completely covered in snow.
Sandro Munari's extraordinary driving skills and the car's reliability and front-wheel drive allowed the Fulvia to enter rallying history and prevail over much more powerful and recent competitors.
This success was destined to change the history of the Lancia brand forever by reinforcing its sporty pedigree, which went hand in hand with its acclaimed reputation as a manufacturer of luxury cars.
