Petrol runs through the veins of the people of Brescia instead of blood, according to a local saying. Since 1927, the 1000 Miglia has had Brescia in its DNA: the city known as the Lioness of Italy has been the race’s heart and soul and its start and end point from the very beginning. And like every year, it is from here that we invite you to set off on a discovery of Italy’s territory and the true spirit of this race.
The first leg starts on 11 June from Brescia and takes in Bergamo, Novara and Vercelli before finishing in Turin, which will be a stage city for the first time. On the second day, the convoy descends southwards, passing through the Langhe region and Acqui Terme, pausing for lunch in Genoa – a historic first for the 1000 Miglia – and finishing up in Viareggio. The third stage leads to Rome, passing via Lucca and stopping for lunch in Castiglione della Pescaia before continuing through Marta, Viterbo and Ronciglione. The fourth stage heads up to Orvieto, with a lunch break in Solomeo, then Siena, Prato and the Futa and Raticosa passes before arriving in Bologna. The last stage, on 15 June, skirts past Ferrara, Bovolone, Villafranca, Lake Garda, the Valtenesi and Salò before coming to a close in Viale Venezia.
